Since the shields on SG's are so short anyway, you might keep that in mind after dealing with the bars.

Good luck, ride safe.
yep was going to go with the windshield as well...w/ a shorty windsheild, maybe the rider is hunching down a bit to avoid the full blast of the wind on his face.....i have eglide and put on a shorty w/s when i am just riding local ...but for long trips..i ***** out and put the stock sheild on....my guess is neck pain is due to your posture on the scoot/and tensing up and holding in one position too long...

stock eglide bars are pretty good overall and fit most riders.....now the stock road king bars that is a real bad set up...

same pain, put on 2'' pullback bars and the pain lessened but didn't go away. I talked to a Physical Therapist and he said that the upper trap muscles that support your head become tired fighting the wind and vibration and the pain is partly caused by acid buildup in the muscle as if you were doing too many bicep curls when you were young. Remember that burn?? He said start by doing wall pushups and graduate to regular pushups to strenghten the muscles so they can stand the strain of holding your arms out. In just 2 weeks my pain was 90 percent better. Also for long trips I bought a Thor thin race collar that I wear with the full head helment I tour with. Problem solved!

Had the same problem. Put Klock Werks ergo up bars on and made a huge difference. Arms are up higher and wrists are turned out more. Much more natural position.

I am having that pain also. My backrest will be in tommorrow, and I am weighing several different bars, but I am torn.Khromewerk sweepers, Wild ones 575, and the extended HD bars. I would like to hear more feedback on hand positions on them before I leap.

But since the thread is about neck pain, your contribution is worthless.

The problem is the distance between your butt and the bars. At 5' 10" with 30" inseam, I went from stock to sundowner to reach and finally found my solution with a dyna seat and heritage bars.
