Funny, on my '08 the lids will hit them if I'm not careful. It isn't too difficult to open or close the lids without hitting them but I wouldn't say that they don't get in the way.
They don't get in the way at all. I still have the psgr grab bar from my 02....won't fit the 2010. It's for sale if anybody can use it. $60.00 and I will cover shipping.
The pre09 ones won't fit on the 09 up bikes because the rear fender is larger and the grab rail mount isn't wide enough to go across the fender. I took them off my 95 and they would not fit. SOld them to a friend.
Nope they don't bother anything and as the other psoter said, the passenger feels safe3r and it's easier to move the bike.
I was just wondering about the same issue, the wife would appreciate the extra feeling of security. Good to know they won't jack up my bag lids more than her shoes do!
