adjusting the batwing is not going to be easy, the right way to do it is to fab up new brackets, but take into consideration that your headlight is going to look like crap, and there might not be enough adjustment to get it aimed properly.

Consider buying a used inner fairing, modify it to your liking, then have the finish body work done and paint it to match the bike. "Tiger Hair" filler would do the job IMHO

But sounds like no matter what gauge you have in there, the angle is too low for you to see. You might as well leave a 'useless' gauge there; otherswise, you'll spend the money and install a useful gauge that you can't read.

Someone should make a plastic spacer that would allow you to pull the gauge and install behind the gauge, so when you put the gauge back in the dash, it would be angled up a few degrees from the stock position, for both bottom gauges. I'd buy them, and maybe throw in a few degrees inset too, instead of straight out.
