maybe cheap fix for hidden antenna
First of all I know it sucks having to modify a hidden antenna to get reception but that's a whole different thread and currently I can't get much on the radio with my hidden antenna. my hidden antenna allows you to plug in your existing antenna wire into the hidden antenna harness so i did.I bought a 9 dollar metal cellphone style radio antenna from autozone and used two needle nosed plyers to bend it to stay under my rear fender chrome struts, I guess their called struts, can't remember their name right now for the life of me.I bent it so only a couple inches if that much sticks up above the top of my saddlebags about at the end of my stock seat. I tried it out inside a butler building style shop and can already tell a difference. This weekend I'll get to try it out around the house and I live pretty much in the middle of know where. If it works I'll submit pictures. If anybody else tries this you'll have to remove the antenna mounting wire from the rear fender filler of your bike, bend the antenna, screw it on then reinstall the mounting thing. With the antenna being bent you cannot screw it back on the antenna wire holder.hopefully this is a cheap fix.
