What thread/fitting for sump oil temp sensor
Just a quick question. Have read all the info from searching this forum on installing the oil temp sender in the sump. Sorry I know its been talked about alot, but I cant find my quick notes from searching, and not sure of the thread size of the fitting that goes into the sump for the sender unit install, after ordering the HD oil temp gauge kit. Is it a 3/8M - 1/8F NPT or something else. Also do I get a straight fitting or a 90 deg fitting? Thanks for any help.

The gauge should come with everything you need. I think that it is all 1/8 pipe fittings and you should just snug them with a little sealer on the pipe thread of the adapter and or the sending unit. Don't get any in the oil pan as it is the main oil pickup for your engine. It is the pipe plug right near your oil drain and just snug these up they are pipe threads and you don't need to crank the heck out of them as you can break the sending unit or streach the hell out of the tapered hole in your pan.
