oven cleaner is the best thing i"ve used. i let a friend ride my street glide when it had only 80 miles on it and melted his sole all over my brand new rinehart true dual header pipes, the oven cleaner got it off without scratching or any swirl marks
Well, the cleaner for cold ovens worked, except for the stuff that's pretty thick & baked-on. I'll just keep workin' on it. Next time I go for a spin, I'll get some cleaner for hot ovens & see if I can make THAT work any better.
spray nine or toilet bowl cleaner. My wifes glue for her nails spilt on the dash of my truck and dried. soaked it with spray nine for a half hour come right off
I you keep a coat of Purple Slice on your exhaust pipes nothing will melt and stick to them. This is from personal experience so if you don't believe me try it yourself.
Razor blade. Its got to be a brand new one though. I've had ski ropes melt to my boat headers and with a nice new blade and some windex, comes right off without a scratch.
Hey Geezr- the pipes don't need to be hot, just warm. Don't forget to open the garage door while doing this...leave it set for 10 mins or so and you should be good.
Thanks for the tips on aluminum foil lads- never heard that one, but will keep it in mind next time someone leaves a plastic bag in the street...ever notice how they seems to be magnetized to your exhaust pipes?
