Default Knocking noise?

Sometimes when i am riding two up and starting out in first gear there is a knocking noise, I have to feather the clutch some. Is it the load on the engine from the extra weight or the clutch slipping? It sounds like the bike is starting out in 2nd gear. Thanks for the help.

I am not having any starter issues but I do get that shutter at take off a little. I have one on the way for mine right now. Comp and the HB wedge while I am in there. It was just a thought I had for you. Maybe those IDS rubbers as well. 2 up puts a little more weight on the back and it might be that comp that you are hearing that can't take it. Let us know what you find out.

Compensator. If still under warranty have it replaced with the S.E. compensator and just pay the difference. Labor should be covered with the warranty.

I agree with the others. Sounds like a compensator issue to me unless you are trying to take off at too low RPM.

It's not the compensator. Mine did the same noise and I found I was starting to ride at a very low RPM. Just a litle bit more of throttle and you "take off" without any noise.
