It's not what you asked about, but give the new FUGLY, Road Glide Ultra a spin. I own a 2010 Ultra Classic and I love it, but I would be tempted to trade it for the RG Ultra, it fits me better at my height.
The only thing that scares me is the payment. But looking at the options the limited seems well worth it if your willing to shell out the extra bucks up front. Plus its always nice having all those goodies installed from the factory. always cleaner.
Anybody have pics of different front rims on their ultra?
When I bought my '05 EG Classic, the wife said she'd ride 2-up with me. After about a month, she wanted to ride her own. Go figure. Anyways, I really didn't like the looks of the EG Classic / Ultra with the Tour-Pak and fairing.
I spend many man hours and a ton of money trying to make it the "cool" bike I wanted, especially by making the Tour-Pak detachable. Suffice it to say, in the end, the bike was cool as a EG Classic WITH the Tour-Pak on. Turns out I loved the functionality of it.
Don't let your age dictate what bike to ride. Get what you and your body want. If it's comfort, then the EGC / Ultra / Ultra Limited / RGU is going to be where it's at. Period.
At your age go for the bike that says, "I have to have it". You will be buying plenty more bikes in the future, so go with the one that meets your needs for now. Your taste in bikes will probably change as you age.
Welcome, It all depends on how much and how you are going to ride. If you plan to ride two up and tour the country, get the Ultra limited. If you just want the coolest bike on the road, get the SG or do like I did, get the KING!!!! Less money and handles better than both the others. You get the same frame as the road sofa's....lol
What type of riding are you planning on doing? If a 26 mile commute was a long ride for you on your Honda 750 then maybe motorcycles aren't your thing.
Seriously, Street Glides and the Ultra Limited are the bikes being talked about these days. There are plenty of options out there that are cheaper. There are some good deals to be found on low mileage used bikes.
