Got my new bars on and went to plug in my TBW connection. The pins all line up, but the connector wont snap into place. It's bottoming out before the connectors can seat.
I've tried to move the plate up and down, and it will only move about an 1/8 of an inch each way.
I can't pull it up to even release the pins, any suggestions?
Six pins, six holes.
Now you made me think a little bit, and one of the wires could be bent up inside the connector, preventing the plate from seating.
I'll check that out before i get the duct tape out.LOL
Thanks for the reply,arlingsg
You need to get it to seat completely. I would remove the wires and replug them. Make sure the white block seats and locks down. If you can't plug the connectors all the way, something is not going to work. I had the exact same thing happen. No cruise, or radio controls from the right side. took it apart got it to lock down and all worked.
I'm having this same problem, all the pins line up but the harness's won't lock? They plug in and work, all the controls are working its just I can't get my harness's to lock after extending them.
You may have broken the plastic tangs which lock the 2 pieces together. A couple of mine did and I used a wire tie looped around the connector to hold it in place. Otherwise I am not sure what you mean by snapping in place.
Ok i just reread the service manual. It seems like the secondary lock is still in the unlocked position. No matter how much I push on it, it won't go back down and lock?

I actually put the pins in the wrong way the first time that's why I couldn't get them to connect. Try taking them apart putting the gasket in then the rear lock and slide the wires in one at a time.
One or more pins are likely inserted upside down in the connector. If you're having a hard time getting one of the pins to back out of the connector, that's the one that's been plugged into the connector wrong. When the pins go into the connector, you should feel a little click when they are seated.
Pull all the pins out and try it again. The fat part of the pin should be oriented towards the release slot.
