I'd have noticed a misaligned fairing the 1st time I sat on my bike and never would have bought it.

There is no logical reason that HD would purposely design bikes that way. If that was the case, I'd be riding a BMW right now.
You wont notice sitting on it....you'd have to be riding it.

If you were riding a BMW for visual symmetry, you'd be disappointed. The boxer's jugs are offset, and from the beak to the stern of my GSA, there are little shape and size oddities from one side to the other. Crash bars, for example, fit closer to the bike's left side than the right.

As to the the problem with alignment, I definitely agree that the factory should pay attention, that the set-up mechanics should pay attention, and that in the end, the buyer must pay attention.

Mine was slightly canted to the right; I loosened the trees, bumped left edge of front tire in a place where it wouldn't scuff the fender or the object I was bumping against, and slipped it right into the groove and tightened up the bolts. No problems tracking straight. Fork tubes parallel. Easy.

There is probably too much play allowed in the process of installing the inner fairing, though. The factory should take care of that.

Meh, it's all designed to be that way so, I wouldn't have an issue with it.

I agree. Does this mean that they just don't care?
