Just installed Hawg Wired dcs/sx 120watt amp and speakers and very dissapointed. A friend has hog tune speakers "$100.00" and tweeter pod, no amp. We had bikes side to side and his has more bass and is just as loud and clear. Anyone else experience this? For what this system goes for i would think there would be a WOW factor compared to stock system. Did not get that.

Did you make sure the amp was working before you buttoned up the fairing? Probably did huh?

Contact Hawg Wired and talk to them about the amp's set-up. I recall a guy installed their product, swore his installation was perfect, and flamed away only to find out later that he didn't have the amp set-up properly after talking to a tech at HW. HW enjoys a good reputation based on the posts on this forum both with respect to their products' performance and customer service.
Unless your bike is a parking lot icon, listening to a bike's audio while it's parked tells you very little about how good it will sound rolling down the road IMO, unless there is some serious problem with the hardware.
I think I can help here. I had the same issues when I installed my Hawg Wired system. When I called Mike at Hawg Wired we walked me through the install to find that I did not have the amp set on the High setting. After selecting the correct setting I was blown away. Give it a shot. Hawg Wired has some of the best customer service I have seen and after hours contact if needed.
I've found its best to first start seeking technical assistance with the manufacturer instead of forums. You'll get it right, no way a stock system with $100 speakers sounds better than the Hawg Wired, unless of course you have some sort of auditory dissorder that you failed to mention.
I installed a hawg-wired double shot from Dragos (awesome price and service). The professionalism of the product right down to the packaging blew me away! I will agree that they lack bass but thats not what you want at 70mph! The highs and vocals of this system is the best i've heard anywhere period! I hope you can solve your problem, good luck.
I prefer the sound of the Arc Audio system to the Hawg Wired, but Hawg still has a nice sounding system. Call them directly, something's not configured right. You do know how to set up the gain and other controls for the amp, right? It has to be configured when installed, I've not seen an amp yet that is ready to go right out of the box.
I have the same system, definitely check with Mike, I think your amp is not set up correctly. Been there done that, but without the flame. You really want to see a big difference put the steel mesh grills. Big difference over stock, now at 75mph I have to turn the volume down sometimes depending on the wind
