Default 2007 Ultra Zumo 660 Install

I am ready to install my Zumo 660 on my 07 Ultra. I will be using the MC mount and was wondering how to hook up the audio and mic plugs to the system.

I did not find any info on the internet.

Any links to pic would also be helpful.

Thanks

I just installed one on my Road King so I am not positive about the Ultra, but I do believe HD sells a plug and play kit that may be what you're looking for.

Part # is 76000024

First of all, how does the MC mount attach to your Ultra? Problem #1 is that there isn't an available 12V power source other than the cig lighter. You will have to remove the outer fairing and splice into a hot lead if you want your power hard wired, or plug into the lighter. Problem #2 is that your audio system doesn't have a rear AUX plug. You can either route the plug that goes into the Aux port (front of the H-K unit) thru the fairing, and back out the grommet for right side wiring, then plug it in externaly to the AUX port-or- send your H-K unit to someplace like Iron Cross Audio and have them add a rear AUX port. As far as I can tell, the only thing you really get with the Zumo is a water resistant (and very expensive) Nuvi. I also don't know what your expectations are for actually operating your Zumo but I don't think the idea of interupting your radio station to blast out an upcoming turn is going to be what you expect either, but YMMV.

I have on on my Street Glide, didnt tie into anything for the voice guidance. Mounted it on my LF clutch mount bolts and tied into the cig lighter for power and ground. Only problem I had was when I put in my amp and speakers did induce some electrical noise into the speakers so I wrapped a drain wire around the power supply cord for the Zumo to ground and the noise was gone. The Zumo has a lot more benefits other than just water proof like vibration resistance for one is another huge benefit over a car unit especially on a Harley. Im not going into detail on the tons of other benefits either since you paid the extra you obviously already know them! Hope this helps some.

be VERY careful with the aux input on your headunit,it is fragile and will crack internally, it is not covered under warrentie.

I have a very clean MC mount that utilizes a bracket made by Hoon Hardware for the Roadie XM radio. This bracket mounts to the top of the brake reservoir and the mounting plate for my Zumo 550 matched the hole pattern perfectly. This places the Zumo to the right of center.

I dropped the front off my fairing and tied a Radio Shack socket (female half of a cigarette lighter) into the wires for my cigarette lighter and plugged the Zumo accessory plug into it. I ran an 6' audio connector from the Zumo into the front of the radio. Burried all wires through the grommet to the inside of the fairing.

It turned out real neat. I will send pics if you are interested.
