im thinking... pc111, big sucker 2, and a good 2 into one.....
but i really like duals..... has anyone test there scoots with both exhausts on a dyno.... would love to see numbers.... keep being told 2 into one is the way, but i like the true duals
Yes, most of the time a good tuned 2 into 1 will out perform a set of duals, especially in the bottom end of the chart. However, I wouldn't let that stop me from getting duals. I put V&H Duals on my bike using the same mufflers that I had ran over 52k. I could tell a definite difference in the bottom end. I made some lollipop baffles (see below) for some added back pressure and gained back some of the loss. Like I said before, I ran the stock head pipe for 52k. It ran great with the Stage I burn. After adding duals, I had to put on a DFO to add a bit more fuel. It runs pretty stout now.
Lollipop baffle - Take a 1/4 bolt and cut the head off. Weld a 1 inch washer on the top of the bolt. Weld the washer hole shut. Drill a hole in the head pipe just in front of the muffler and put the lollipop in there. You can turn it to vary back pressure for tuning.
i run true duals...lost alittle maybe...so i just built some silly power #'s...and run the duals...i never notice any loss cause i make lots...and the sound is staccato and deep [8D]
Big Sucker Stage II is overkill unless you are doing or planning a bigger build. Engine only sucks as much air as it needs and the Stage I or Screamin Eagle with K&N gives it what it needs. I ordered all of the individule parts of the SE (with chrome backplate) and the K&N filter and it cost me less than a BS Stage I or SE with the silver backplate.
Alwayse thought I would loose tq down low w/duals but it can be tuned out wouldent of believed it my self if they dident prove it on my bike and I dont think eny thing could be gained for me with a 2 into 1. Go true dual you will be happy and yes they are louder! I incresed tq all the way across the rpm range switching from stock head pipes to tru dual head pipes with the same slip-ons.

Don't discount the gains from the 2 into 1. Dhutchison, a member here, has a 88' with nothing that had nothing but 203s, a PCIII with a homemade map and a Pro-pipe on it. He had it dynoed last month to get a base line before swapping to gear drive cams. He got 84/94 out of it. Imagine what it might have put out if he had a 95' and heads with work on them like you have.
