I have decided to keep my street glide instead of going for a 2011 ultra or Road Glide Ultra, i was wondering ballpark how much from some of the street glide owners in here it cost for the King Tour pack on your street glide? . I already have single stage quick detach . Up here in Canada they say it will be about 1600.00 installed . Its definately worth the day ride for me over the border to have done .

Buy all the parts yourself and do the install yourself, you will save allot of money and the install is easy. Even consider a use King Pak and paint to match.

 

I would find a "friend" just over the border... go to Lake Shore HD.... order all your parts... 20% of US list and NO sales tax.... have it sent to your "friends" house... ride there and install it.. save your self a Ton of money and have a nice ride to the US... riding back over the border with a tour pac on your bike should be legal..

I've seen some tour packs on the forum classifieds lately. I'd look there before buying from the dealer.

 

Or maybe it was eBay. Can't remember. . .

 

In my 2010 book, it shows a

solid color King pac at $750 less 20% = $600

two tone $950 Less 20% = $760

Plus what ever other parts you need to do the install..

Keep in mind IF you decide to get all the detachable gear, I would suggest you do a in depth search here on the forum.. When I bought my 04, I got all the detachable gear and it was a nightmare to install and get right... I finally just took it off and sold it, and kept it a solid mount.. granted that was 5 years ago and maybe its gotten easer,,, just suggesting you look into it before you come across the border and try to put it together.

the detachable gear is NOT cheap - I would just go with a sold mount.. get a parts book for your year bike - it will have all the part numbers in there.. once you have the part numbers,,, the order is very simple..

 

hard to beat that 20% off list and NO shipping.. even on ebay or want adds, price doesn't work and esp if you have to get it painted to match.. but go where the best deal is... I have the king and wanted a chopped ( I LOVE it and it has been on for 5 years) all the classified and ebay were at or above the Lake Shore price once I added shipping to the ebay price and repainting

... So, your price above the border More or Less than MSRP??? plus don't forget sales tax and up there its a lot. If a person live cloes enough to the border.. why not have item shipped to a friends house and save Hundreds of dollars...

 

I know I shelled out just over a grand for a matching black pearl painted king tour pack with the back rest to match my stock RK seat. I also had to get the 4 point docking station- to use as a detachable. Also had the barrel lock keyed to match my saddlebags. I did the labor myself- took a couple hours for me to install. First time and had some issues with the docking brackets + a few extra trips back to the dealer due to a few missing pieces. Well worth it -I keep it on about 90% of the time. Literally takes 2 minutes to take off and put back on. I was able to get 15% at my local dealer.
