Default touring exhaust

i have a 2009 flht and am currently looking to get exhaust for my scoot. my question is what is the difference between the 2008 and 2009 exhaust? i have found a true dual rinehart set up for a 2008 for about 450 and dont want to drop the hammer on it if it will not fit my 2009.

There was new design in 2009. the frame was redesigned and the stock exhaust goes under the frame as opposed to how it is on earlier models.

Talking Mounting 2009 pipes on a 2008 Electra Glide

I adapted a complete 09 exhaust system to my 08 Electra Glide to get the heat from the pipes away from the wife's ankles. The stock 09 headers do the trick nicely. You should be able to use pipes between 07-09 touring models without to much trouble. See my How-To post at: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...tra-glide.html

I put the new Rinehart Trued Duals with 4 inch mufflers on my '09 CVO Roadglide. Got them from Fuel Moto. Already had a PC-V from Fuel Moto to run my non-cat headpipe. Sound and run quality with new map and pipes is great. Can't say from actual temp measurement that it runs cooler, but with the way Rinehart routes the rear cylinder exhaust, it is completely removed from being near your right thigh. Also I'm only 5'8" and without the exhaust against my leg I can flat foot the bike at stop lights. I put around 600 miles on since the install.

Sorry - to answer the dollar question - pipes were $934 plus $18 shipping. Lot of stew, already got $31K in the bike so wanted to get what I wanted - the bike, beer, and pizza - only three vices I have and mama let's me have my fun with them.

I bought the MAX II's from B&E Superflow exhausts two years ago. they sound great at idle (deep rumble) and will really bark when you get on it. the finish was and still is flawless. $125.00 + S&H. they've actually gotten louder after 2 years, I'm very pleased with them and the price I paid. Sometimes more $$ doesn't get you what you want. JMHO.
