Default Header pipe to a crap tonight.

Was on my way to work and heard the bike getting louder. Just about the time I was about 2 miles from work and it got REAL loud and my chuas and *** got REALLY hot!!!! Pulled into a gas station to find the Y pipe had cracked in 2 and the left side was hanging off the flange. Went ahead and limped it to work for that is in a secure area and went to work. Called a buddy and him and his OL brought up their trailer and got my scoot back home and into my garage. Now that a friend!!! 45 miles round trip and put off their plans for a few hours to help me out. Told me if I had tried to limp it home, it would have crapped out the engine. Called the local stealers and they wanted $210 before tax and I would have had to go get it. Called Chicago HD and they can have it at my door for $168!!! It's on its way as we speak!!!!! Amazing what kind of mark up stealers are able to put on their stuff.

Actually a 22 mile trip wouldnt have been a big deal if ya had to ride it back home. No back pressure is hard on valves but we're talking many more than 2 miles. JMHO

We were going to reweld it but it blew a piece out and now it has a hole where all the pieces go. So back to Chicago HD and just suck it up. Piece of mind that it is a new part and not have to make due with a something that is prone to break again and we may not get the angle right to amtch it back up. Many things I for sure won't think twice about welding and have the equipment to do so. This I feel just ain't one of them.
