Very close, I guess I'm thinking more on the lines of comepletly replacing the RK fender and tail light/ signal assemblies with the same SG assemblies. I like the SG look from the rear alot (or the RG custom for that matter) but after test riding the RK with and w/o the wind shield I like the view, wind protection choices, looks, lack of radio, lack of guages, all for the sake of simplicity and a minimalistic non distracting ride that takes me back to my youth(?). I rode my 1971 Triumph 650 Tiger to Daytona from Syracuse NY in 1975 during hurricane season with the whole east coast underwater. I had to be at AMI for fall classes. I haven't been without a fairing since 1988 so it's an RK for me. I like to tinker with my bikes and make them my own, as so many of you do. Just a thought I had about a "street king". By the way- thanks for hanging in and responding to my original start of this thread. I've been lurking on and off here for years, and lurking amongst HDs and HD riders for decades. Thanks again go to Green MT. HD for helping me solve my fit issues. John
I was just curious, you went ami in 76? I went in 77 did you stay in the industry?
The cvo sg facia on on a rk would look fantastic. If "they" offer the cvo rear facia that is already color matched then i'd consider it for my 2012 rk. If not, im happy with led tail/blinkers set up i have.
Well, I am almost there. Clean front fender, detachable fairing made from OEM fairing parts, RG rear tail lights.
I'm new to this forum and to Harleys, but have been riding for 38 years. I love my newly inherited 2005 Road King Classic (but not the circumstances). I, too, am wanting to use OEM fairing parts to make a removable fairing - could you go into more detail about how you did it?
