I stopped by a new H-D dealer I had never been to on Route 183 at 222 in Reading PA. Charter, Chapter, something like that. Just a block past where I'll be working off and on for the next couple of months. Couple of things stuck out. First, they had Steet Glides in Blue and Green denim. While I love the denim on the Bob and would probably order it that way myself, denim paint on a Street Glide is like a bikini on a fat girl. Right idea - wrong application. Anything with that much paint shouldn't be dull, it should be bright and shiny. On the Bob, it's a great novelty. On the big bagger? Lipstick on a, well, a Hog.
Guy was also gonna cut me a sweet deal on a '06 Deluxe. Nice seat, SE pipes and a chrome front end, let me have it for like $22k. What a steal!! Last years motor and tranny, a few extra feet of chrome and I can have it for - well - LIST....
Seriously the boys there have some '06 leftovers, Dyna's, two Deuces, some VRod's, the already mentioned Deluxe and a Street Glide if you're interested.
The denim paints aren't the worst! Waaaaaaay back in the olden days of yore there was a dark chocolate brown they offered on FLH's. Now THAT was ugly. Some interesting pinstriping work on the denim FL's might make it "pop". Someone creative could shoot a tinted clear coat over it.............
MY SON JUST BOUGHT A STREET BOB WITH THE BLUE DENIM. IN THE SHOWROOM I DIDN'T LILKE IT VERY MUCH, BUT OUT IN THE WORLD, IT LOOKS GREAT. GETS A LOT OF ATTENTION.
