Patience is a must, I don't know about the newer bikes as far as the TBW. If you run across a problem with the wire not going smooth walk away for awhile. If you get to nasty your going to just f it up. With that said I will say that I love these bars. They're not so much for looks as they are for function for me.

Good luck

Tom

Take your time. A rush job always becomes a $hit job. Cover your tank, front fender, and maybe drape something over the inside of the fairing. If you have a digital camera and a laptop, its not a bad idea to take digi's of everything your yanking apart as you go along. Then you load the card into a laptop and review the photos as you reassemble in case there's a gray area. Sounds like a pain in the *** but I do this whenever I'm doing something thats not routine. The reference point photos can be a big help. Just sayin'. Hope it goes smooth.

While in the Corps I used to wire up generators and pulling wire around curves is a bitch,so one big trick I learned, and used when wiring my Chubby's, pour ALOT of Baby Powder down the the tubes before you get started,it helps everything slide slide alot better. I also took the outer vinyl insulation off the harness to give the wires more room to fit, especially on the right side. It gets very tight with the green plug to the TBW in the tubes with the wires. But all went well. I took my time, went slow, and have not had one prblem since.

So did anyone need wire extensions for the tbw? Or is there enough stock wires to do the job?

With just 10" bars, you have plenty of wire to go thru the bars.

You don't need nothing except patience...

for wiring, use grease for mounting tyre. It worked better for me.

HD makes a kit for this purpose. They call it a TWIST GRIP SENSOR KIT part # 32310-08. I ordered mine from Lakeshore for $72.

This is a throttle with longer wires to eliminate the plug inside the bars which gives you more room for the other wires when you wire internally.

I know that most guys extend their own wires to eliminate the plug or they just deal with it and say there is enough room.

I haven't done the install yet but I bought the part because it just makes sense to me. Plus, $71 isn't much to spend considering all the other $ I've spent.

Wild 1 Outlawz - $220
Chrome controls - $500
Grips - $100
TGS kit - $71
Clutch cable - $80 (Diamondback)
Brake line - $72 (Diamondback)
Total - $1043

Note, I'm changing the clutch cable and brake line for looks only. The stock parts will work but I like the Diamondback look plus the stock
brake line looks like $hit on these beautiful bars.

Look for yourself at this picture from the Wild 1 site

This is a Winter project so I'm just getting parts together at this time.

Steve
