My Dad just bought a 2007 Ultra it has Samson slip ons and a power commander. The pipes run very hot, hot enough it burns the back of the riders legs and the passangers legs when their feet are on the floor boards. Do the Ultras run this hot or is the power commander leaning it out to much or any other ideas?
in my opinion the 07 is the hottest running bike they make.power commander cooled mine down alot,i would look into a different map or better yet seek out a good tuner in your area and get it on the dyno. there was a thread in here awhile back about a good dyno shop in nw ohio.
I could be wrong....but if you are still running stock cams, regardless of tuning device, you are probably most likely to have some heat issues. I have an 07 FLHP. The cure was Andrews 54h's and TMAT. I was always under the impression that the cams are the primary culprit and that the EPA mandated tune added to this. Once again, could be wrong. I am not sure how you you can make the statement that the 07's were the "hottest". What changed in 08-09-10 now 11? Did the EPA lighten up on the MOCO?
I think that as long as you have stock cams in your bike you are going to have a "hot runnin' scoot". Regardless of tuning device.

Check your Y-Pipe to make sure it's not cracked - that will send a nice hot jet of exhaust at one of your thighs. My PC-III is using a canned map which is far better than the stock set up, but a dyno tune will help too.
