FL XIED, working?

FL XIED, working?
How do you tell if the FL Xied is working? I grounded the front to the regulator bolt as suggested in the instructions and the rear to the gas tank hold down bolt. The engine runs fine, but the rear cylinder is still awful hot.

What year bike are you running these on? I put a used set I bought off of here on my '07 Street Glide and they didn't come with any instructions. I believe back then all you had to do was measure the resistance on them to see if they were functional.

The 09's you had to ground the rear cylinder on the Xied's, as far as knowing if they are working your bike will do better on gas mileage and I noticed a big difference in the take off. Went from feeling like the clutch was slipping to the bike pulling itself when I let out on the clutch.

Grounding is done on all the 09 FLH's, the wire grounds to the battery and the set comes with that ground wire for a clean install. They were actually late to release them because of this issue on the 09.

I have the FL-XIED'S on my 2010 RK and my wifes 2010 SG Trike. I have ground wires on both front and rear. Steve Mullen at niterider said only the back one has to be grounded, but it's best to ground both. To make sure there was no ground problem, I ran both grounds to the battery neg. Terminal. My bikes run great! I only lost about 2 mpg on gas mileage. They enrich from stock 14.7 to 13.8
