I just used Velcro on my tank for my VTX. I have not found the right spot on the Ultra, so the IPod goes in the windshield bag.

I gotta 120 GB 6th Gen. Ipod that I put in a glove tight simulated leather case that has velcro on the back of the case and attach it to the top of the master cylinder.
Cheap and works very good...
