Default RE: Electra Glide Air Temp Gauge?????

Hi Guys. I was riding today and it was pretty warm. In fact, my air gauge reported 120 degrees! Shouldnt I get some kind of award?

They should have put an oil temp gauge there. I sure as hell don't need to know that my engine is hot, shitt I can feel that!!!!!! I think it was a waste.

Default RE: Electra Glide Air Temp Gauge?????

I have read on other forums that the sensor is located in a spot to high inside the fairing and when the sun gets on the fairing it gets hot inside.I have noticed mine works ok in cooler temps but gets way off when it gets warmer out.
From what I've read the sensor can be relocated and will work much better.
Check out Electraglide Garage at Delphi Forums and someone there can give you the whole story on the process of the relocation.
I have not tried it yet myself as I really don't much worry about the air or oil temp.
These TC motors can take a lot of heat (I've done both the Neveda and Mojave deserts in summer more than once) so I just ride it till I can't take the heat anymore and then we both get a break

Angry Air temp Gurage

I just went on a 200 mile ride on my 07 Flhtcui and the air temp gauge pegged out at 200 for most of the ride.
Now every time i start the bike it jumps to 200 immediately and flutters back and forth when i change gears.
Thoughts bad gauge or TP temp sensor .
Thanks

rip that POS useless gauge out and replace it with an oil temp gauge.
