If you weren't religious before I would suggest maybe it is time now. If you are not absolutley sure where you will spend eternity it's time to reflect. If you are then you know God surely has a plan for you, and for a tat idea I'd say a cross with the words "Saved" would just about summerize it for me. Sorry if this offends some, but I love my bothers too much not to say it. Have a fast recovery and get yourself back on a bike ASAP.

The accident hasn't changed my non-belief. If I was saved by some higher power, I wouldn't even know which one to give credit to. Besides, if I were going to thank anyone, it might be the dude that designed my helmet.
Thanks for the kind words though. My recovery is going well. The first thing I remember my wife saying to me in the hospital is, "You're done"! She was referring to my riding days. I'm ready to get back on, but it is going to be a hard sell since I want to stay married.
The wife and I took a bad spill September a year ago, I too had 9 broken ribs and a plate put in for my collar bone, mild concussion, she had a broken collar bone with a plate attached and some other injuries. We decided to get back up and have ridden several thousand miles since the accident, glad to hear you're doing okay, those ribs take a long time to heal and the recooperation process is hell, but now I do not feel any pain. Keep the faith..

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I'm begging for morphine as they are wheeling me into emergency and I hear my wife say. "I hope this gets that motorcycle out of your system". I'm in so much pain that I agree with her. She tried to hold me to it for months. If they ever get my bike done (going on 4 months) I'll be up and riding and she is just going to have to get used to it.
maybe the bike helped... maybe you need to get a tattoo of the bike? Well after reading your post, maybe the bike tattoo would be best, might be the only think you own that looks like a motorcycle... sounds like your wife has put a end to your days on a Harley! Take this time to rest and fully recover, and most of all be a good patient!
