hey guys. I pulled the trigger on some heritage handlebars. they should be here soon. I am going to change them out myself. i am wondering if I will be able to get the left grip off , or should I buy a new pair.
Anyone have some advice for me? this will be the first time I try something like this. i am very handy and I have a service manual.
dude its a piece of cake took me about an hour and fifteen mins. i was able to use my same grips , but i dont think its always that way. you might need to replace them. luckily for me my dealer is close by so if im in a jam i just run up and get the parts needed. good luck with the bars.
I put these bars on my 2010 FLHR about two months ago. Made a huge difference in the comfort and handling of the bike in my opinion. Since I had the inside-the-bar heated grips installed last winter and I also wanted new grips, I went ahead and had the dealer install all of it. I have adjusted them back a bit further since installation just to fine tune. I think it helped the appearance of the bike, too.
I put these on my '10 RKC, and while height wise they're a world of difference from the stock bars, I am now looking for another solution. For me they're too narrow and the wrist angle they create for me is VERY uncomfortable.
If I could find a set of bars as tall as these or even a bit taller, but as wide as the factory RKC bars I would be in heaven.
Probably this is a stupid question, but I do not see Heritage bars listed in the HD catalog except for the newer bikes. I have the extended bars and am not quite happy with them. Can I get Heritage bars to fit my 2004 Road King Classic? What is the number if you possibly have it?

I must admit...I didn't buy genuine Harley bars. I went the cheap way and bought aftermarket bars. 50 bucks to my door. some day I will put bigger bars on her and change the cables but now I dont have the $$.
Do you have any pictures?
It is absolutly pouring outside so I had to take these in the garage, thus the pics are not good....
