My wife and I are looking into hitting our first Daytona bike week. I am looking for some ins and outs, where to stay (camping and hotels we havent decided yet) what to see whats not worth the time, places to stay away from etc. thanks in advance.
BikeWeek or Biketoberfest? I can send you some information.
stay away from daytona inn no parking and rooms are run downed.boardwalk inn is better underground parking for bikes only ! bamaha house real nice open bar 5:00 til 7:00 every night and underground parking for bikes. all three half a mile to a mile from main street. as far as camping i stayed at the koa family camp ground in orange city family run clean shower they serve breakfest for cheap every morning and no bs at night you can sleep.thats all i can tell you!
Ditto on reservations. I thought I would try it one yr. without making reserv. and ended up almost in St. Augustine before I found a room. Also stay away from the real cheap rooms because the sheets are guaranteed to be stuck together.
Plenty of good places to go. Make sure you hit the racetrack and mainstreet. Take a big coat and alot of money. Pretty dang cold this past year. Have fun and don't be in a rush, take time to take it all in.
I was planing on going to sturgis in 2011 but after I watched a show last nite you can't have apes that are over your shoulder. I'm a D.A.B so I really don't feel like getting harassed so maybe switching up and doing Daytona do they have silly *** laws like that over there
