Default replacement headlight bulb?

ive got a 10 SG and i would love to do a HID, however its not in the budget right now (need rims first).

my question to the masses is: what bulb if any, are your replacing your stocker with for better light?

If you're using one, do they last awhile, or do you replace them often? I'm looking for a brighter whiter headlight.

Then ya gotta give it full voltage iinstead of the nominal 12 volts it now gets.Install heavier gauge wiring and a relay. look here www.easternbeaver.com

I run a 70/65W Osram Plus 50 H4 bulb from http://www.danielsternlighting.com/p.../products.html
This is a very bright , very white (no blue) bulb.
I run this in a Cibie 7" round E-Code housing , also from danielstern.
For a $22.00 bulb and $75.00 housing , it's a killer combo for forward lighting.
Very happy with this combo.

Do you use it? If you do, what's your feedback? I'm always leery when I see cheap stuff like that.

I upgraded to a Hella 80/100 watt H4 bulb. The difference is significant. The new bullb is way brighter than stock . Night riding is much less stressful.

Oddly enough I caught a large rock directly into the headlight this last weekend which pretty much rendered my headlight useless (and scared the crap out of me).

I put in the new headlight module from HD (dual bulb HID) and what a difference! Rode into work this morning and it was dark when I left... Definitely better visibility.
