Although not the same shade, I got the orange/black '09 Nightster. Go with orange.... everybody and their brother has black. Plus... everyone will say "I love the color!" but probably not too many will say this when looking at black!
I saw a Sedona orange SG friday ...... got to say i was underwhelmed after all the talk on here about it ....... now up until then i was in the market for one i so wanted it to be something i could work some magic on ( custom wise ) i found it to be one of those colors that just did not have the wow factor .... if it were my choice it would be Black ... everyone has a choice .... but i think it's a hard color to give it the stunning look only black and chrome gives a SG ..... just a honest opinion from someone who loves Harley's

scooplove .... The Merlot is a great color choice .... the only thing being in England we dont have the sun as often as you in so cal .... Northern hemisphere pretty crap .... you need that golden stuff to make it pop .... you certainly could add a custom paint job over Merlot would look cool thinking Gold leaf in there somewhere ....
When I buy a SG it will be the orange, about 70-80% of the SG's I see around here are black. I prefer to have something a little different than everyone else.
Was never really a fan of vivid black until I got my Ultra. Black and chrome go so well together. I was on the fence between it and the white ice/black ice pearl. Really liked that but knew I wouldn't in a few years and would end up getting it painted. That would have been money wasted. I will eventually get this one painted and I have grown to like the black so much that when it comes time for custom paint I am seriously considering the metallic black that Dodge offers.
If you have any doubt now if you will like the orange in a few years then you probably won't. And no matter how much it is a PITA to keep clean, black is a color that you can't get sick of.
I don't know about the color title but yesterday at the local HD shop saw a CVO SG in orange and it was very cool. But then I like my purple bike so to each his/her own....
