Registered a 2011 street glide this past monday at my local tag office.
Was told that Harley Davidson has not loaded the 2011s information as yet so it could be a few months before I receive my title. Has anyone else encountered this?
You ready to sell it already?
Time to send out titles varies from state to state. If I recall it takes a couple months for IL to process them and send them out. Usually our dealers process all the paperwork. Possibly the title hasn't made it from the dealer to them.
Kinda depends on where you live. In Kansas as long as there is a lien on the bike you don't receive the title. Once the lien is satisfied then the state releases the title. The MSO comes with the bike and then in return goes to the state for title assignment. Your state may vary
i bought a used van last spring, paid cash, and asked for the title rite there, he said he couldnt do that because it was a bussiness.he had to run it thru the bmv himself.. got a 30 day tag with the sales recipt but had to park the van for anouther over a month and a half till ohio bmv and the dealer got around to sending the title..
In Calif I was just told last weekend the DMV is 3 months to get paperwork processed. Too many furlough days on top of the other days they dont do anything.
I had a similar problem when I registered my 2011. In Indiana your registration fee is based on the value of the bike, we pay an excise tax. Anyway, they didn't have the new bikes in their system and had to guess which classification to use since my model is a new model and they couldn't go by last year's information.
