i have a serious itch to upgarde to a 2011 SG White Demin from my 2008 White Gold Pearl.... how difficult is it to keep the White Demin clean compared to the White Gold Pearl.. are there any draw backs having the Demin White vs the White with the clear coat ?
I attended a HD test ride and 2011 with 103 package with new frame really does feel different... please help..
Dude, I for one don't think you should be giving up your White Gold Pearl Street Glide. That has to be the rarest color on a SG out there, and about the best looking too! I have only ever seen one in person and it was bad-***! The denims are cool and all, but they don't have the class or exclusitivity of that White Gold Pearl. The denims usually don't stay showroom condition. They show wear like a pair of denim jeans... unlike a clear-coated gloss paint.
There are several posts on the "Keeping Clean" part. So far so good on mine. Have no complaints what so-ever. Some say "They'll never go back to gloss". It is as easy to keep clean as most say it is.
As far as the itch is concerned---You'll have to scratch it yourself.
i know gold white Pearl is rare - mine stands out in a crowd... has more chrome and blue lights.... i really llike it but after driving a 2011 103" .. hard to stop scratching..... got to be someone on forum with the hot white demin.... i do prefer the white gold pearl... but ride quality was a big differance.. maybe after the winter ill get over it ! dealer offered to sell my scoot at my price and differance of trade in + 10K gets me a 2011... ya a big loss of 5K per year..... got to really think since $$ dont come easy and kids in college few years from now.... if i dont spend it... wifey will !!!.....

" If you don't spend it, wifey will ?? "
Have you considered trading her in for the '11 ??
I was bored yesterday afternoon and took a trip to my local dealer as well. I wanted to clear out all doubt on how a couple of bikes rode that I had never been on. I test road a Road Glide and then right after a new 2011 Street Glide with the power package.
I have a 2010 RKC, and that Street Glide was an absolute dream to ride. I liked everything about it and wasn't thinking about the king at all while on it. That 103, even in factory form, is a huge improvement over the 96 in the king. The gauges, the fairing, the music, everything, the bike was just awesome.
The one I rode was the white color, I had never seen it before, it didn't really look like denim to me like the flat black because there was silver flake everywhere in the paint but it was glossy looking, I liked the color, never seen it before. Inside the showroom I wouldn't have looked twice, but outside the color came to life.
Now I REALLY have a SG itch, we'll see what happens.
Papi,
Yeah, I guess moving from an 08 chassis to the new Touring chassis and 103" is fairly significant. Still, I'd hate to have to give-up that White Gold Pearl... Love to have that color on my 2010 SG. The Denim white is good though... especially on a new 2011 with a 103"! My favorite color of 2011 on the SG is the Merlot. Really deep, rich, and classy looking.
Fire-Medic,
"Just do it" Man! I've got my Bro's 09 RKC sitting in the garage next to my 10 SG. I've ridden both bikes. The RKC is really fun to have your "face in the wind" for awhile, but to really lay-down some miles in touring comfort that SG is really sweet! Still maintains enough attitude for pub-crawls and cruzin the strip too.

I hear ya brother, the short highway test ride on a windy day here yesterday made that very clear, very quickly. We'll see what next week brings.......
