primary noise

My 07 Road King just developed a slight whirring sound from the primary area. This only occurs with trans. in neutral and clutch engaged. Anyone else have this happen? The bike has 55000 Km. on the odometer.

Mine had around 35,000 mi and started doing the same thing. Pull clutch in and the noise would quit. Dealer replace inner primary bearing. All OK.

Went thru that with my Wide Glide 2X...@ 3900-mi, and again @ 12K. Known '06 Dyna issue. Some brilliant engineer convinced mgmt. that he could save them a few nickels by eliminating the IP-->Tranny case aligning dowels. 2nd fix, they gave me upgraded cases with the alignment dowels. Haven't heard of any/many failures with Tourers.Lots of the '06 Dyna guys are going with the heavy duty "Baker" bearing...mostly those doing their own fix.
