The front fuel tank mounts may distort in reaction to severe frame damage from a frontal collision. This condition may cause a fuel leak at the weld of the front bracket to the tunnel. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a fire, which could lead to injury or death to the rider.
I just bought a 2010 SEUC and went in to the dealer for my 1K service, plus Monster Ovals, RT, and H-D Heavy Breather. Well what do you know--they couldn't change the trans fluid because the factory welded the cross-member in the wrong location! Now, they say I need a frame swap from the factory . . . are you kidding me??
Anybody else had this happen or know about it? Holy crap."
I wouldn't go for the frame swap just for this. Just try the holesaw or simply suck the fluid out of the trans when you want to change it. It's not like you change it every 1k.
Sounds like everyone on this thread woke up on the wrong side of the bed...

Yes you could definitely widen the hole but if it were me I would have them replace the frame. For the amount of money spent on a 2010 SEUC I would want everything to be right.
go troll somewhere else.....none had a recall!!!!!!!tank mount on 09's that it!!!!!!!!!
get a life

leohd; The Tank is bolted to the Frame...no matter how you look at it , it was a Frame up grade.....unless you can explain to me diffrent without the name calling....
I have a 2009 and had the tank mount Recall done...I still feel it was because the frame was week in that one area and was wondering what 2010 2011 frames looked like in that area...

The fuel tank tabs that distort aren't on the frame. They're on the tank. It wasn't a frame upgrade. Learn how to read.

Apparently you didn't actually pay attention to the actual recall, not some idiotic magazine article. All they do in the recall is put two rubber covers on the TANK tabs that attach to the frame. These TANK tabs are a part of the GAS TANK, not the frame.

lp
what does your post have to do with what the op asked? I answered his question,,no recalls on frame for 09-11 except tank mounts on 09's, LP you have been following me around for years harrassing and trying to get me banned, so if you want forward this to Terry, I don't bother Terry at all, I'm sure he has bigger things to deal with. wow once again I feel threatened LOL

Yeah that!
Only thing I would add is they all cost to much to go cutting the frame with a hole saw!
