I have never had a reason to get in that last 1/2 gallon and top off the tank.
There is plenty of gas in there with 5 1/2 gallons for me to have a good time.
My 09 was by far the worse bike I have ever owned to get fuel in without a mess. Bought the HD version of the McCuff thing and it worked pretty well. There must have been a change with the fuel pump on the 10 because it is not nearly as difficult, dont use the adapter thing anymore. Splatter is still a problem if I get in to big of a hurry.
I have found it easiest to fill up from the opposite side the bike leans with the jiffy stand down. I think that gets me a better angle with the nozzle. It appears that the engineers have once again designed a product that they have never used in the real world.
