Default Samson Headers

Thinkin about Samson headers (True Duals) on my 2010 ultra. $449 online. Already have superTrapp mufflers. Oh by the way added a SE air cleaner with a TTS master turner, My God! it's like night and day! The bike has much more pick up now and that's just with a map loaded to the ecm close to that set up.
Now, i know the performance will not be that great but, i like the look and, I'm not looking to make a race bike.
Has anyone went with the Samson headers? How was the install? Ive spoke with them on the phone and the girl on the other end didn't seem to know much, kinda sad really she couldn't tell me if the SuperTrapps would work with theirs pipes. She did say that the Rineharts don't work. Your input would be much appreciated. I really need to get some photos up. Have made many changes to the bike since my 1st photo.

Thanks for your time, Joe

if your head pipes are 1 3/4 inch at the outlet most mufflers will fit as well as the rineharts. rineharts come in 2 sizes 1 3/4 and 2 inch if u like sampson buy em i bought paughos and i think they work well and was a reasonable price. and the fit was very good and i have rineharts on mine. IMHO.

I have kerker (by supertrapp) and bub 7 true duals on a rkc 2009. you have to know if samsoms are 1 3/4, if they are, supertrapps will fit.

btw wich supertrapps have you got? I would like to know how supertrapp SE series sound with duals. my kerkers used to be ok with stock 2-1-2 but now with duals they sound too loud (just imo)

please post some coments with the results.

Found this on another Forum.

I have a 2001 Dresser that I changed out the stock exhaust/pipes and replaced with Samson Caliper True Duals about 2 1/2 years ago. The first time after the change out I took my bike in for a rear tire. The service mgr noticed my new pipes and stated that I may have trouble with them in the future as the design put tension on the rear exhaust. I had not thought of it, but he was correct. On the rear jug the pipe comes out, basically turns 180 degrees and then routes toward the left side under the saddle bag. The only "hold" point is where the pipe connects to the jug and then under the saddlebag. Last week I noticed a exhaust leak (sound) and sure enough the 180 turn out of the rear jug, the header pipe had started to crack in a couple spots due to stress and vibration.
I bought these pipes new and they were a couple hundred $$$ less than the RineHarts. Now I am replacing them with the Rineharts true-duals. Like the old saying goes...you usually get what you pay for. But still I was not happy with the pipes as they started to pit rust about 6 mo. after I put them on. Of course no warranty on rust. Next the chrome came off the end caps...again, no warranty on chrome. Now the cracked pipe...and my warranty has expired...bad luck. Rineharts here I come. I just wasny plannin on spending another 830$ this soon.

Anyone else have any experiences with Samson?

I like the Samson look because it opens up more of the engine on the right side. Has anyone seen others that does the 180 off the rear jug?

the Supertrapps work just fine but the Rhineharts do not since the muffler mounts to a 2" head pipe. all other muffler brands work with Samson head pipes that have 1 3'4" head pipes.
thank you,
JR
