Default Thigh cramps?

I have a 2011 UC that I put a sundowner seat on. After about 100 miles my thighs start cramping from the crouch down to my knee. Anyone ever have this happen to them or ideas what is causing this problem.

Do you use highway pegs? I use pegs with stirrups that allow me to utilize three different positions to put my feet. Helps a lot

No experience with that particular seat but dehydration and lack of exercise could lead to that issue with any seat.

Yes I use highway pegs. It reminds of the one time I rode a Horse. I could hardly walk for a couple of days. I told the wife I needed a skinner horse so maybe the sundowner seat is to wide. I don't no but it is painful to get those cramps. I guess its like they say, Growing old ain't for sissy's.

It could be lack of exercise as I don't get much of that. What exercises do you recommend for this problem?

This is a common problem with riders that are uncomfortable with a new bike. The same goes with horses, your legs should be relaxed as you ride. When you are not comfortable with a bike you will tend to pull you legs into the tank, this will cause tension in your thighs and cramps over time. Get comfortable with the bike, possibly take a riding class. You would be surprised on how much you will relax, you might just learn a few things about the limitations of new bike and your own in the process. Don't take this as as sarcasm, just as a lesson learned from over 20 years of riding.

Good point! However, DAWG's advise is right on - whether you are comfortable with your bike or not. Having said that, I have to go "exercise."

Might also want to consider a set of floor board extensions if you haven't already. Bringing your feet out a little may help, I know it did for me.
