Check out the link below. The other thing you could do is, ride Route 66 in Illinois.

South out of Lexington KY. To Richmond then turn East into Appalachia. Nice little 2 lanes with small towns along the way. Stopped at one last summer and still had the stove in the middle of the cafe with the old fellows around it. Nice people!! base yourself out of Richmond for motel.
Head to Madison, IN, then down to Rabbit Hash, KY (need to google rabbit hash...I do not remember directions). Find the back roads on to Richmond, KY as suggested. Or make your way through Bloomington, have lunch at Story, IN then wind through to the southwest and cross over into western KY or southern IL around Evansville, IN. Of course Nashville, TN is only 300 miles away via super slab.
Southern, IN has 37, 46, 50, 446(one of my favorites for views, condition, no traffic) so you could wind around southern IN, KY, IL for days on end through great scenery.
Trouble is I can't tell you a "route." I would look at maps, pick new roads a stop at a time and try them. I would have a general direction like Chicago, Nashville, Richmond, etc but never go same way twice. Central IN is where the glaciers stopped 18,000 years ago, anything south is great riding.
Good Luck, be safe and welcome to the forum!
