I asked this question directlly to Solorider in his thread, but looking for a broad response. How would someone know if they had a motor mount problem with an 06
Street Glide? My bike has SERT and has been well tuned with VH True duals with Ovals, 95" with SE 203"s. The bike runs great but the "new" vibration since the true duals is a bit annoying, although I'm getting used to it. It seems to vibrate more on the right floorboard than the left. What symptons would I see primarily to indicate a broken motor mount?
I would think a broken motor mount would be pretty obvious. Perhaps your motor mounts have never been properly torqued (mine weren't). I think a loose (especially the upper bolts) mount is more likely. Just my 2 cents.
Same pipes/stock motor. More vibration after install too. Found that over tight clamp on header pipe (not engine pipe flange bolts) caused vibration. try loosening them up a bit.
When I installed my rineharts I got vibrations in the right flloor board. Upon a closer look I discovered the right side header pipe was touching a bolt head near the swingarm. I ended up making a couple shims from a old muffler clamp to stick between the pipe and mounting bracket, end of problem. I think if your getting more vibration after installing true duals the pipes have to be touching somewhere they shouldn't be.
