Ok my Classic is almost at the 25000 mark and when on the last road trip noticed that viberations,, well are much more noticed. Just when getting home had to have the brackets in the front replaced,, they had broken and well the front was shaking like crazy. Would this possible be from a motor mounting support going bad and tranfering more viberation directly to the frame?? Just wondering. It will be an item I talk to the shop with when I take it in for a checkup.
Man, there are so many potential sources for vibrations, you really should provide us with more details of WHERE the vibes are...your feet...your hands...your ***....??? Have you cracked that engine open and added any kits or cams or the like? Then maybe we can give you some ideas.
Breaking the faring brackets is not a rare thing, so it does happen. Mostly due to front end shocks from medium to hard hits in potholes, uneven edges, rail road crossings, etc., just anywhere you can put pressure hits on your front suspension, you run the risk of breaking the stock brackets. If you haven't changed that fork oil in 25K miles, you need to do that now. Ensuring that the fork oil, seals, and springs are up to specs will help mitigate front end shock to the faring brackets. Don't over - inflate the front tire too much, that hard tire can contribute to front end shock as well if too hard. Some guys have fabricated their own faring brackets and made them more robust.
I would bet that the vibes you are experiencing and the faring bracket breaks are two different, and probably unrelated issues.
Those brackets look kind of weak to begin with.
I pulled the fairing at 1500 miles to replace the speakers and found one of the inner cap screws loose on the left side bracket.
