I may be wrong, but I think they have different baffles for the "baffled" version of these pipes. The baffled version, as seen in my pics, have a ballooned area for the baffle, which is replaceable. You do have to pull the pipe to do it though as the baffle slides in from the front instead of the back.
If you measure the id you can use Big City Thunder baffles. They do have a quiet baffle too which is still pretty loud but quite a bit better than open pipes.
nice looking bike you got there. You should get plenty of good time enjoyment out of it.
If you are concerned about the red light hassles/stops, you can probably pick up some old stocker swap-outs and "fix" the baffles in those... quiet it down for little or nothing and use them for the meantime...
My friend rides a old knucklehead with open pipes and i can hear him a mile before he gets to my house... and that is without him really crankin' on it.
those straight pipes without any muffle to them can definately be overwhelming really quick.
I agree they are Samsons. I'm running them on my '01 RKC. The version I have are 33" mufflers with internal 10" baffles. Can't see from your pic but if you have a screw head on the side toward the tire just back of the header/muffler junction then you have baffles in tehm or at least can insert them.
They are loud pipes no doubt about it. Even with teh baffles they are loud unless you wear ear plugs. Since I routinely wear plugs anyways I have grown quite fond of them. I will say though that when I first switched from V&H Basics to these, they took some getting used to.

Thanks Steelhead. I went and took a look, no screw on the inboard side that I can see. I'll probably tear into it and see if I can find out more. I may go after some of those Big City baffles too if I can fit'em.
Those do appear to be Samson's but you CAN baffle them. Samson sells louvered baffles that slip in them. As to how much quieter they get, I cannot say on that.
Here is a link. http://www.samsonusa.com/A-117.html Samson sell several different diameter baffles so you will need to see what diameter pipe you have.
the pipes are some of our older straight fishtails. we have many alternative mufflers that will slip right on. we do try to meet every different style sound and i am sure we have a set of mufflers available for you.
thank you,
JR
I have an idea, you can donate em to me, that will quieten em down,lmao...JK..Nice ride. Good luck in your search for the right muffler. Stay safe and keep the shiney side up.
