Sound is subjective to every different ear that hears them. To my ear every V&H I've heard sounds like a John Deere tractor with a bad muffler. The Rush definitely have a deeper sound. Rineharts even deeper. So, it depends on what sound you like.
I have a 10 Limited and run the V&H power duals, twin slash ovals (not the monsters) and the V&H power pak along with the s/e stage 1 air cleaner. They run, look and sound real good especially when you crack the throttle. try Dr V Twin he is probably the best around for price and a Forum sponsor and responds quick. Get rid of that bogus cat converter youll be glad you did. Pay close attention to what map goes with your set up it took V&H 3 shots to get mine right only because my set up was a new one for them back in april but I think their all set now with the right dyno and map for this set up. Good luck with the new Limited youre really gonna like this bike.
I think the Rush system with 2" baffles has a deeper tone....
and their customer service is second to none.
Fit and finish on the Rush is also darn good.....
I'm not affiliated with them, just a satisfied customer
I'm liking my 2' Rush. Nice deep sound but dont give me a migrane on long trips. No issues at all with the fit n finish after 3 years, just have gotten a little deeper.
Liked the Rush, deep and fairly loud with my Dresser Duals (V&H).
V&H ovals on same duals not as deep but very aggressive, not overly loud but louder then the Rush.
Picked up Monster Ovals from a member and on the TD's I would say very close to Rush but maybe a little less db then the Rush. (can you tell I like to try different combo's?)
I am sticking with the V&H MO's on the TD's even though they are a bit "tame" for me. I think when I do the SE255 cams they will wake up just enough for my liking. Did someone already say the sound combo's are subjective?
opps....meant to add to this long ramble that I had Sampson pipes on a "different" make bike for years also but never on our HD's. So in quality of chrome, fit and looks I have been very pleased with Rush, V&H and Sampson.
