Did a forum search on this, didn't find anything......
After ~1200 miles, I noticed that my 2011 RG Ultra pipes have a different color on the inside of the tips. Left side is dark, right side is still looking clean. As I took a closer look with a flashlight, I noticed that the inside baffles are different; left side has a solid baffle about 4 inches in, the right side is "empty" the majority of the length of the pipe up until the mid point on the bike.
Asked the dealer about it, they were not sure why they are a different color (or more acurately stated...why the left and right side blacken at a different rate). Also, why are the pipes different on the inside?
No complaints about the exhaust, just curious why the pipes are different.
Thanks in advance for the input.
Had the same thing going on with mine when new (same bike). Dealer said it should be the same but because the 2-1-2 config. the baffle may divert exhaust slightly different to cause this. I just wiped it out and since doing that it seems they are both the same now afte 3K miles.
I always thought that if you were standing at the back of the bike the right pipe had more exhaust moving through it and therefore would have a darker color. You are saying that the left is now doing this?
I've only seen a handful of 2011s and they were all so new I never noticed any different. The 2010s work as I described I know that for sure.

As I stand at the back looking fwd, the left pipe is darker. Still don't know why the insides are different, tho. Just curious.....
