Default I need saddlebag hardware help please...

I need hardware for a set of hard bags. What are all the parts I need? I have the bags and lids and know what I need to mount it, but I know I need latches, what else? thanks guys. I am clueless with some of this bagger stuff. if you could provide a link or something that would be very helpful.

Drew: Have you considered soft leather bags like I used to have on my bike? They're pretty decent and are easy to mount/remove.

Bob, I have considered all different types. At t his early hour I am thinking no bags at all. Who knows. We'll see what kind of impulse hits me later on when I head out to the valley to pick up my new tires.

Besides the lid latches, you'd need some kind of bracket to put the "half-twist" bolt catches on, I'd imagine.

I'm no engineer or fabricator, but I'd bet it's possible to make some brackets that bolt to the fender struts, then hang down just enough to have a hole where the twist-bolts would go through. Then attach the catch on the inside of the bracket and that should do it.

Oh, probably need some bottom brace bar like the Touring frames have too.
That'd probably be a matter of welding brackets on to bolt the FLH bars into....but if on a softail frame, I've no idea where you'd be able to put them. (like I said, I'm clueless when it comes to actually DOING that sort of thing)

As far as mounting them I am pretty much certain i will sue the Cycle Visions Bagger tail kit as it comes all done with what I need.
Besides the latches, is there any other hardware on the actual bags?

You'll sue them?

What about that cloth thingie that acts as the lid's hinge and keeps it from flopping down too far? "Check strap" I think it's called.
EDIT: And the lock that goes in the hinge.
