Lowering blocks are a great way to maintain riding comfort. Going to a lower shock (street glide) will give you a significantly stiffer ride. Air suspension for the touring models still givea you a stiffer ride than the stock 13 touring shocks. There are a few shock guys out there that will modify a stock for both height and comfort.
You might want to try a lower seat. The Badlander is a good low profile seat.
The very last resort is a set of boots with a thick sole.
Seat is the best way to go without losing comfort is truly need to lowered the best is Arnott Shocks lowers you when need to have your feet on the ground but a simple push on the fly has you back at comfort level ..

Dealer lowered my 09 Ultra with streetglide shocks. Stock was a 13 inch these are 12 inch. Lowered it fine. A friend came up with another method and removed em. If looking to go that way send me a pm, they have been used 3 months.

Try these. $30 and your ready to go. You must have had a different kind of block before. These have 1", 2" or the ever so dangerous 3" (if you move your wires). My bike doesn't ride any stiffer and I didn't have to buy new shocks.
