Question: I have the J&M and used the foam insulation that came with the kit. I have enough dynamat extreme left over from doing my car. Should I remove the foam and use the dynamat?

Thanks

This is a pretty old thread, maybe my question will sparks some interest. Anyway I have some 1/4" dense Neoprene, was wondering if this would work, or too thin to do the job.

It figures, I see these threads AFTER I get my fairing back on the bike. This is a fantastic idea though. I don't think that the OP's material was thicker than a 1/4"? I would imagine any thickness would make a difference.

Still had a piece laying around the garage, maybe its time to clean up, it was 5/16 thick. I'm sure the 1/4" will work just fine. Go for it, Mine's still holding up great, not peeling or falling off anywhere, so I guess the permatex headliner spray adhesive is pretty good stuff.

Started my project. I need to go get some contact cement. I may try a brushable type. Not sure yet. For those who try it, it not that hard. After a while you get into a groove. But it does take some time.

Getting closer to being done! The best method for me is to spray just the foam side, let it dry for a few minutes then it will stick into place, then peel back sections and apply glue to the wing. I use the can to hold back section while it gets tacky. I tried applying glue to both surfaces as per instruction, let it get tacky then apply on a small piece. Its A LOT harder that way. It sticks and does not want to move. Also, I keep a clean rag close by and apply a little wd-40 to rag to wipe off over spray. Works great. Also take the glue off your fingers too. Yes that is a laundry basket with old towels used to support the batwing.
