I just wanted to tell ya about my wife, Jean and her friend Rose. They officially became hard core bikers yesterday when we all went of a ride at 37 degrees.
What a great ride. I'm sure there are plenty of other wives and girl friends who have done the same and they all should be appreciated.
Good for her the wife an I took off saturday night to a party @ 6:00 pm =38 deg rode 100 miles left @ 10:30 pm rode home 28 deg she said her feet got cold but she hung in there!
I realized about 2 weeks ago how hard core my wife was when she rode with me from Daytona, Fl to Pa....920 miles in a little over 15 hrs. Only stopped for gas and 1 meal around Richmond, Va. It is amazing how well they do when they really enjoy the ride. Congrats to your wife for hanging in there with ya. We need to appreciate the partner who enjoys it as much as we do. I have friends that would do anything to have their partner join them on rides .

You should have gone 80 more miles and signed up for the Iron Butt Assoc. Saddlesore 1000 in 24 hrs. That's alot of miles for two up, welcome to Insanity.
My first date involved taking this lady on my bike. We rode over 200 in miles in 2 days, and sure, that's not a lot but she loved the bike and the riding. We rode in the rain, and in the dark and never a complaint, just lots of squeezes from the back seat. The next date we went on a local group ride and it was in the low 40's to start with. Again, just happy to be on the bike. Sure was nice.
I thought I had a hardcore wife. We have been riding together about 25 years. She let me, made me get a new bike after we were cut off by a delivery truck three years ago. We had spent a month in the hospital and then a couple of months going to rehabilitation. During this time we discussed replacing our road king and pestered the guys at the local dealership. She then had a bad reaction to some medication (Tylenol - Poison if using long term) and spent another spell (10 days?) in the hospital on a respirator. Upon her discharge we went straight back to the dealer and got the Sun-Glo red Ultra. BEFORE going home. She and I ride together every chance we get now, rain or shine. We do avoid the cold weather though. After having so many broken bones the thought of that hurts...
