Question What does the accessory switch control?

I hope its not a stupid question, but I have no idea what the Accessory switch on the fairing cap assembly controls. Is there a hidden outlet or plug somewhere in the fairing? I have never had it apart. Its a 2011 Ultra Limited.

I asked the same question and some dumass said, you guessed it, accessories! Apparently you can run whatever you like. Radar detector, phone charger, ipod, lights ect. I think HD sells a cigarette lighter type plug you can hook up to it.

There is a plug under your seat in front of the battery box. Your accessory switch controls this plug.

On my 07 Road Glide, there was an empty plug under the seat that was controlled by the ACC switch. Nothing was hooked to that switch but I later hooked my ZUMO to it. HD sells a pigtail to plug into the plug to you can hook anything you like to it without splicing.

I'm not sure what the part # is for the pigrtail.

Anyone?

On my 2011, I haven't looked for the empty plug yet. Anyone know if and where it is?

Steve

Thanks a lot for the information guys. Now that I know it terminates in an outlet under the seat, I've been able to get much more info on the net. FYI, here's the instruction sheet for a splitter made by HD: http://www.harleydavidson.com/en_US/...ts/-J01544.pdf
