Default 2" lowered back end

For those that have dropped only the back of your Glide 2", how did it look, and did you run into the frame and footboards rubbing on normal riding? Am thinking of dropping mine 2" with the bitchin baggers shock modification but don't know how much I want to go yet. I want it to look low, but not strange and not with a lot of side effects. I don't want to lower the front for several reasons, the main one being I don't want the fender ramming the driving light crossbar. I am also thinking of 1 3/4" drop for the back.

Here is mine at a full 4" of drop in the rear...

I think it looks good, 2" will not be real noticeable, but it will handle tighter, trust me you will love it. Just curious though, why not go with air ride ? If you are doing their exchange (You supplying the shocks) the air ride will only cost you a tad more..

Are you meaning air shocks? The standard shocks are air adjustable and that will be retained, just a shorter shock travel. I don't want to go to air shocks as I have very limited money to spend and I do not see anything on their site about those. My main concern is whether I will be having problems bottoming out or hitting my footboards on turns real easy. Also 2-up riding. I don't do a whole lot of it, but want to be able to do it.

Bottoming out will happen for SURE.. It's just the nature of the beast, but I'm talking about an entire Air ride, I just pieced one together for $200, that's only about $25 more than what you are looking at through BB..

I just did mine 2" by doing the kit on the 2nd hole. It's certainly lower looking. I've been checking my harness and have seen no sign of rubbing. I have hit the left side board or kick stand twice with a passenger and leaned over pretty good. I'm running 15psi on stock 07 FLHT. She does squat in the rear but looks good.

It handles far better. I just put my floorboard extensions on tonight and it's even nicer to ride now.

I have the kit installed and run in the 1st position on my 09 SG, so I am lowered 2" from a stock EGS. I weigh approx 200lbs and the wife weighs approx 125. We ride 2 up most of the time. I have no issues with bottoming out. I run 30-40 PSI in the shocks, anything below this and the ride starts getting rougher the lower the PSI.

If you are a real aggressive rider you will notice a small decrease in the ability to lean real hard in the corners. It will put you lower in the saddle so your view through the windshield will be change.

hth, dave

Here is the website for what I am looking at doing: http://bitchinbaggers.com/products/drop-shocks/

According to the site, and another member who posted the site, the modification they do does not effect the clearance between the tire and fender, just the shock travel. So, the lower you go, the less travel you get. I guess I will go with the 2" drop if there is not a lot of trouble. My main concern is getting dragging on turns or the bottom of the frame hitting the pavement with potholes or stepped pavement. I don't want to go full air ride as I don't want to be adjusting the height, just one height only. I don't ride crazy but don't want dragging either.

+ 1 on bitchinbaggers. I drop my roadking 2'' in the rear and like the way it looks and rides
