i have an 06 road glide, it has been in the shop for a few minor repairs, nothing major, in my opinion.
the fuel injectors, the rear wiring harnes, the front wiring harnes, the intake gaskets, and now i seem to have an oil leak.
the leak is just behind the rear cylinder. it is where both sides of the cases come together. it is actually seeping out, not leaking.
is this going to be an easy fix? should I go ahead and let the dealer do it know, or can i keep riding it for a few more months as long as i keep an eye on the oil level?
anybody else have this problem? It seams for a new bike, it has had quite a few problems...
Sounds like the primary shaft seal is leaking! This is very common among dressers, whether new or old. It's about a one-day job at the dealer. I would suggest you have it replaced right away. As the leak could be more prominent, and dirt will start to collect at the bottom of the engine.

Seems like way too many problems. How many miles on the bike?
Is the leak where the cylinder meets the crankcase? Or where to two halves of the crankcase meet?
Cylinder base gaskets on the former...I thought The MoCo had this cured...Only way to fix it is to tear it down, true up the mating surface and replace the gaskets.
Bigger problem on the latter...Gonna have to pull the motor...Then take it all apart to separate the case. I don't know if I'd want a dealership to do this or not. But if it's under warranty...I think I might b!tch loud and see if you could be a new motor instead of them tearing it apart and hopefully putting it all together correctly again.
it is between the two cases. My buddy owns a bike shop, he looked at it this morning. He said the gasket between the two cases is bad. it is a shame to say, i love this bike, but i have had it since february 28, put 10K miles on it, it left me stranded once, and been in the shop many times... I never had these problems with my Kawasaki. (did i say that outloud?)
My bike had the same problem. Now is the perfect opportunity to go to a 103in engine since they have to split the case halves for this repair anyway, you save yourself on the labor cost to install the kit.
