I look for whichever valve stem will be accessible first. In over 30 years of riding you would think that maybe one time I could get to either one of them without having to roll the bike forward or back.
I just wondered if anyone else filters the air and dries it? You could have issues with moist air freezing and throwing the whole wheel outta balance, oooh wait, thats probably in the winter air thread... nevermind!
mostly i was making a tongue in cheek poke at the posts that are just ridiculous. or maybe that only I find ridiculous. i dont think im alone though.
i understand that guys want to be all 'into the harley thing' and they geek out a little bit, but when your getting to the point of asking the 'consensus of how your pointing your slashes on your new slip ons'? come on....just put them on the way YOU like them and who cares what anyone else does. and the 'who rides with fingerless gloves / chaps / goggles / facemask / long underwear etc. etc. posts are in the same catagory. do what YOU want to do.
1. I absolutely agree with you. Asking if someone has had a good/bad experience with something is one thing. Asking for approval is quite another. Whenever I'm bored, just for fun I like to drop in and tell them that their $300 handlebars suck. Truth is, I couldn't care less. But since they asked....
2. It says a lot when people aren't sure whether your post was a joke.

I know you were joking, but moisture in the tire can cause you some grief with corrosion. Especially on spoke wheel where the rubber tube protector locks the moisture against the metal. There have been a few cases posted with pictures in the past where the rim actually split. I did say "few" cases but I'd hate for it to happen to me.

Yup... lost a wheel years ago to corrosion, spoked wheel.

I caught one in the early stages of rust.
It had a nice straight line along the edge of the tube protector.
I cleaned the hell out of it before mounting the tire.
Makes me wonder how many tire people actually take the time to clean the rust.

Good tech would check, especially on a spoked wheel...
I'm lazy: I took the bike to the local Chevy dealer paid them $16. for life time nitrogen. They reminded me that when I change tires just come back and the will change to nitrogen again for free.
