Default thinking about selling my 2011 limited

If you want to sell something, you need to put it in the Classified section. Please read the rules there first.

Have you messed with the pressure in the shocks to see if that helps?

I've ridden an 06 and an 09 Ultra (about 150 mi on the 06)
The 06 rode like a Cadillac. It did lack power (stk 88 - stk pipes even)

The 09 rode like a truck. Sportier feel I guess but went over bumps (train tracks etc) no better than my Heritage. The 06 floated over rough stuff. I guess that was the complaint on the old frame was the "too soft" feel.
To me, that's what I'd want in a touring motorcycle.

Word on the street is, get an 02-06 or 7 or 8 and do the big bore kit.
I guess some of the older ones have that rear steer (tail waggin the dog) thing goin on. My friend that owns the 06 has never had it happen (except for road irregularities that the Dunlops follow (and they do follow rain grvs etc). But I sure didn't notice it the day I rode it & I was wheelin & dealin on that thing.

OH !! And the heat comin off that 09 ??!! Holy sh--!!!! And it's Stage-1.
Way worse than the 06 (both eq w/lwrs which would have to come off in the summertime)

If new is better for some people (abs, bigger motor) then thats their best bet.

I know what you mean but you get used to it especially when you consider all the positives. I'd give it a chance but then that's me . . .

Agree rode couple of new framed bikes and very glad I have an 08. Will be hanging on to it for a long time. Yes the frame was redesigned (much stiffer), tires are lower profile which makes the ride more bumpy (think of a truck tire vs a car tire going over bumps Big difference) and the wider rear tire would not have been a choice I would have made. Short story long No you are not crazy if you don't like the ride you don't like it. No matter what anyone says you are the one that needs to be happy.

I hesitate to even mention it, but have you checked your tire pressure? If it's overinflated it will ride like a truck. You might test drive a seat like the Hammock, which features a suspension and extra foam.

A new bike is like a new pair of gloves, the old felt so comfortable, it was what you had for years and you were used to every thing about it, give it a bit of time, make a few personnel changes and mods and I am sure you wont be dissapointed.

It would cost you a lot less to buy some good rear shocks, the frame being stiffer isn't going to make it ride harsher, most also think the stock shocks loosin up after a few more miles. You'll lose a couple grand by trading down, whether you sell this one outright or not, & that's at a minimum. Give it some more miles or try some better shocks.

I would definitely take a look at the tire pressure as stated earlier. I got pissed every time I drove my wifes new Mercedes because bumps would rattle my teeth. I could not believe the ride and then I checked the tire pressure, it was 10lbs over. Lowered it and it was a totally new ride. A bike tire may make a big difference with just a few lbs. Just a thought.
